I was interviewed for The Stranger‘s “Artist of the Week” feature here in August of 2022.

The late, great comics journalist Tom Spurgeon interviewed me in 2015. The interview was never made available on his Comics Reporter blog, since it was released exclusively to his Patreon supporters, but I’ve reformatted it into a pdf that you can read here.

I created an animated video (along with Lauren Brogan and Connor Rice) for Seattle University that told the story of Matteo Ricci in graphic form. Watch the video here.

During my time teaching with Writers in the Schools, I wrote a number of essays for the organization’s blog about my lessons and pedagogical approach, including this piece about using William Steig’s work as a model, this piece about how comics reveal narrative structure to young minds, and this piece about using abstract doodles to shift perspective and jump-start imagination.
