When I first started drawing with watercolors a couple years ago, I briefly got obsessed with drawing postcards like the ones above — nine characters laid out in three rows of three, drawn fairly spontaneously and rapidly, without any kind of plan. Above are a few of the ones that turned out best.

I drew this watercolor of spaced-out birds last year & then promptly misplaced it. If I don’t find it in my apartment during spring cleaning, I’ve at least still got this scan.
